“This is a key milestone for Viridian and differentiates our customer services from other housing associations in our sector. We have a real passion for excellence and are continuously striving to improve our customers’ experience.” Roy Morgan Head of Customer Services
To mark National Customer Services Week, 1 – 5 October, colleagues and Viridian customers were joined by a number of special guests, including the Mayor of Wandsworth, Councillor Adrian Knowles, and Investors in Excellence (IiE) CEO, Ian Nield, to recognise the important role that customer service plays in the organisation.
Ian Nield kicked off the week-long events at the Viridian head office by unveiling the IiE accreditation plaque, which the housing association was awarded in August. The IiE award is a prestigious mark of excellence given to organisations demonstrating a high standard of all-round business performance. The standard provides a proven framework for achieving continuous improvement and covers all key business areas including leadership, people and customer satisfaction.
Ian Nield, Chief Executive of IiE, said: “I am thrilled and delighted to present the Investors in Excellence plaque to Viridian. It represents the hard work of the Customer Services team and their achievement of excellent customer service. This is a fantastic success in the housing sector.”
This year, the Viridian agenda for National Customer Services Week included Learn to Sign Week, a British Deaf Association initiative. To this end, the Mayor was invited to address Deaf residents, clients, and Viridian colleagues. Councillor Knowles spoke of his personal experience and how he learned British Sign Language (BSL) at a young age from his Deaf parents. Having worked as an interpreter for the Metropolitan Police for 11 years, the Mayor signed with residents and interpreted effortlessly throughout his visit.
Councillor Knowles said: “I am delighted to meet so many Deaf residents and to be present at the launch of such an inspirational week. Being here pays tribute to all of the great work that Viridian is doing in support of the Deaf community”.
Roy Morgan, Head of Customer Services at Viridian, said: “We are overjoyed to have the IiE Chief Executive, Ian Nield and the Wandsworth Mayor join us this week to recognise our customers and customer-facing colleagues. We have a real passion for excellence and continuously strive to work with our customers to improve their quality of life and to help them get involved in their local communities.”
