Region’s top performers recognised at Midlands Excellence Awards Ceremony

Some of the region’s best-performing businesses are celebrating after scooping the top prizes at the prestigious Midlands Excellence Awards.

Birmingham-based manufacturer Truflo Marine fought off stiff competition to take the main award for all-round excellent performance, with a further two organisations – ESOS ICT Division and Service Birmingham – being highly commended.

Watched by 500 business leaders, the successful organisations collected their trophies from double Olympic rowing gold medallist, Steve Williams, at a gala ceremony held at the Great Hall, University of Birmingham.

Speaking after the ceremony, Midlands Excellence chief executive Ian Nield said: “Winning a Midlands Excellence award is a fantastic achievement and it’s a huge privilege to recognise such a wide range of inspirational organisations, all of whom are seeing a fantastic return on their investment in excellence.”

Praise was also given to the other two main award finalists – Clarkson Wayman Ball, a firm of independent financial advisers based in Market Harborough, Leicestershire and Worcestershire County Council’s Environmental Services Directorate. Judges explained that in a year where standards were so high, even making the shortlist was a big achievement.

A further 24 organisations were recognised at the ceremony for achieving The Investors in Excellence Standard whilst the celebrations continued with trophies being presented to six winners of the Midlands Excellence Specialist Category Awards.

Congratulations to all this year’s winners.
