Mercian Housing commits to achieving the Investors in Excellence Standard

IiE is delighted to announce the recent commitment of Mercian Housing (part of Circle) to achieving the Investors in Excellence Standard.

The Investors in Excellence Standard is a prestigious mark of excellence awarded to those organisations that demonstrate a high standard of all-round business performance. It is a very testing Standard covering all key business areas including leadership, people and customer results – but its scope makes it a powerful improvement tool.

Ian Nield, chief executive of Investors in Excellence, said: “This commitment to achieve the Investors in Excellence Standard by Mercian Housing demonstrates a clear focus on continuous improvement. Implementing improvements to achieve the Standard and subjecting themselves to external assessment will facilitate better and more efficient services to customers.”

Mercian Housing Association is an innovative ‘not-for-profit’ organisation providing affordable homes and contributing to the regeneration of communities across the West Midlands. Established in 1964, Mercian offers over 3,400 rented, leasehold and shared ownership properties working to achieve its mission of ‘Enhancing the Life Chances of residents and service users by providing great homes, quality services, and by helping to build sustainable communities in the places that we operate.’

“Committing to the Investors in Excellence Standard reflects Mercian’s commitment to excellence but this is only the start.  The Investors in Excellence framework has provided us with a good foundation from which we will be able to drive continual improvements in our business for the good of our customers and employees” Kevin Devlin, Assistant Director, Business Excellence
