Seven high-flying Midlands organisations are celebrating this week after being shortlisted for the region’s premier business awards – the 2010-2011 Midlands Excellence Awards.
The finalists – Advantage West Midlands, Experian Payments, Haldex Concentric, Trent & Dove Housing, Stratford-on-Avon District Council, Walker Thompson and The Wrekin Housing Trust Ltd* – secured their place on the shortlist after preparing a written submission and undergoing a rigorous evaluation by a team of independent Midlands Excellence assessors.
“We were extremely impressed by the standard of this year’s entries and they prove that even in a difficult economic climate, successful organisations are continuing to strive for excellence,” said Ian Nield, chief executive of Midlands Excellence.
“Everyone who has reached this stage should be extremely proud of their achievement and I congratulate them wholeheartedly.” Now in its 14th year, the awards programme is based on the European Foundation for Quality Management Excellence Model, a proven framework for boosting and sustaining all-round business performance used by tens of thousands of organisations across Europe.
Previous Midlands Excellence Award winners include household names such as BMW, Siemens and Severn Trent Water.
This year’s winners will be announced at a gala ceremony at Birmingham’s ICC on 3 February 2011. Attracting more than 1,000 business leaders, the event is Europe’s largest celebration of excellence.
As well as an opportunity to network with decision makers and influencers, guests will be treated to an inspirational address from keynote speaker Sir Ranulph Fiennes.
