3663 Catering Equipment incorporating Hospitality Design receives the Investors in Excellence Standard

“Achieving the Investors in Excellence Standard is a sign that in these difficult times, we are still travelling in the right direction.”

Congratulations to 3663 Catering Equipment  incorporating Hospitality Design on achieving re-certification to the Investors in Excellence Standard.

Ian Nield, Chief Executive of Investors in Excellence, said: “It is a fantastic achievement for 3663 Catering Equipment which has shown itself to be truly committed to continuous improvement.”

Lee Morton, Depot General Manager commented: “Recognition as an Investor in Excellence shows our stakeholders that, not only are we holding our ground with profit lines, but we are investing in the depot, our people and our customers.

3663 Catering Equipment is part of 3663 First for Foodservice providing caterers with a “one stop shop” for all their catering equipment needs. Operating throughout the UK with next day delivery from the Bristol Warehouse, all members of staff are committed to offering a first class service to customers and their business.

The assessor commented “3663 catering equipment is a team committed to delivering right first time, on time products for their customers”.

Mr Morton continued: “As we looked to achieve re-accreditation, it gave us an opportunity to step back and review all aspects of the business, something that can get lost in the daily hustle and bustle of business.”

With over 8,000 catering equipment items in stock, the depot needs to be firmly in control of all activities to ensure its customers are offered a wider choice of quality items at competitive prices. In addition to web orders, customers can choose to phone, fax, post or email their orders.

Improvement is key to maintaining the depots success.

“As we looked at the suggested improvements from previous assessments against the Investors in Excellence Standard, it gave us an insight into those areas that, although were stable in, had not improved as we would have liked” said Mr Morton.  “We then looked to our areas of strength to understand what had made the successes happen and to help us apply the same format to our areas for improvement.”

By working with the Investors in Excellence Standard, 3663 Catering Equipment have indentified top tips which has enabled their improvement and continued success:

•    Firstly, be honest with where you stand; if you are fooling yourself you are fooling no one
•    Set the line in the sand with realistic and achievable deadlines & targets
•    Involve everyone but at the right level; know your team and understand what each individual can and is willing to put in.
•    Find a common language for all; set the process up, Plan, Do, Check, Act and repeat this across all activities

“For our customers it shows that in an ever changing world, we are not standing still, we will and do react to the changing markets, we can adapt & move hopefully with them.”

3663 Catering Equipment are to be congratulated on this positive outcome and for their continuing commitment to Excellence.
