Finalists unveiled for this year's Midlands Excellence Awards programme

Five high-flying Midlands organisations are celebrating this week after being shortlisted for the region’s premier business awards – the 2011-2012 Midlands Excellence Awards.

The finalists – Clarkson Wayman Ball, ESOS IT, Service Birmingham, Truflo Marine and Worcestershire County Council – Environmental Services* - secured their place on the shortlist after preparing a written submission and undergoing a rigorous evaluation by a team of independent Midlands Excellence assessors.

“We were extremely impressed by the standard of this year’s entries and they prove that even in a difficult economic climate, successful organisations are continuing to strive for excellence,” said Ian Nield, chief executive of Midlands Excellence.

“Everyone who has reached this stage should be extremely proud of their achievement and I congratulate them wholeheartedly.” Now in its 15th year, the Midlands Excellence Awards programme recognises excellence in all-round business performance.

Previous Midlands Excellence Award winners include household names such as BMW, Siemens, Severn Trent Water and Advantage West Midlands.

This year’s winners will be announced at a gala ceremony at The University of Birmingham’s Great Hall on 8 March 2012. Attracting more than 500 business leaders, the event is one of Europe’s most prestigious celebrations of excellence.
As well as an opportunity to network with decision makers and influencers, guests will be treated to an inspirational address from keynote speaker Steve Williams, OBE.
