Double gold medallist announced as guest speaker at 2012 Awards Ceremony

We are delighted to announce that in an Olympic year our guest speaker for the Midlands Excellence Awards Ceremony 2012 will be double gold medallist Steve Williams OBE.

Steve rowed to success in two of the most heart-stopping and unforgettable Olympic finals in Athens and Beijing to successfully claim the gold medals.

Since retiring from the sport Steve has gone on to ski to the Geographic North Pole and conquer Mount Everest in two 'back-to-back' expeditions.

Steve is an accomplished speaker and we’re delighted he’ll be joining us on March 8th to share his experiences, challenges and successes.

This stunning evening will now take place in the Great Hall at the University of Birmingham in Edgbaston on Thursday 8th March, 2012.

Based in the heart of the campus, the spectacular surroundings of the Great Hall will provide a fresh look and feel for the event.
