Investors in Excellence recognises the West Midlands Regional Observatory

We are very proud to annouce that the West Midlands Regional Observatory has been recognised as an Investor in Excellence.

The Observatory is the source of regional facts & figures, responsible for helping the West Midlands develop better access to well organised information. The Observatory conducts economic & social research to make sense of complex data, information & research and help policy makers to base their decisions on real lives and real issues.

Better evidence will lead to better policy, strategy and funding in the West Midlands, so that services and ultimately people’s lives are improved. It also provides a central point of co-ordination for all West Midlands research and data through the Resource catalogue. The Observatory works with partners at national, regional and sub-regional levels to ensure that the data supplied is consistent across the region and nationally.

Rosie Paskins, Chief Executive of the West Midlands Regional Observatory commented "We have found the Investors in Excellence Standard to be an extremely useful approach. It has allowed us to assess our organisation, celebrate our areas of strength and identify areas for improvement in a structured way. We are already seeing the fruits of improvements we have put in place as a result of the process, and look forward to improving further in the future as we follow up the recommendations and feedback."
